- Write a letter to your friends.

Yes, we know you can use email or call when you need to talk to them, but forget about that for a second. Write a "real" letter, telling them how great they are, how happy you feel to be their friend and anything else you want to share.

Yep, use real paper - it's hard to find some around the house, we know :) But go buy some cute colorful envelopes and lovely paper. You'll see, that'll inspire you :) Feel free to add funny stickers, drawings of your own or kissing marks. Like you did when you were a kid :)

- Close that device!

We're not going to call it by its name, but you know it: that thingie that keeps you connected any time and any place, the one that has no manners and buzzes at night to let you know "something important" has happened or a meeting has been scheduled.

We know it's impossible to throw it away :) But at least completely close it for a full day (yep, that's 24 hrs :P) and see what happens. If you have a back drawer that's hard to reach, even better - drop it in there. You'll feel free-er, your friends will stop hating you for interrupting every conversation every 2 seconds and maybe you'll even realize that nothing is really that "urgent".

- "Steal" somebody from work.

Yeah, be a little Robin Hood for the working class. Go to a friend's working place, create a diversion and "steal" your pal. Then, while they're still wondering what happened, enjoy your day as you used to when you weren't so "responsible" and "grown up". If it's OK, let us know :)

-Direct your own "movie"

You know, sometimes you get so caught into the usualness of day-to-day being that you forget you're playing the lead character. Why would you wanna be that double always waiting for a role, but never getting it? Is it OK to stay on the side and watch the movie?

Being the first name on the screen means everything depends on you. So when you acknowledge that, you are back in the game! And as great actors always say, mistakes happen.
That's why you should never give up on giving the best performance ever, even if at first you fail. Even if it takes hours or days or weeks or months, you will succeed. And get your applause.

- Challenge everything.

Not for the sake of doing it, of course :) But when you feel like something's wrong and you know better. Just speak up. Challenge the status quo.

You know, you are the one that can take things further and make them better. When you're not OK with a situation, a relationship or a thought, you SHOULD try and change that. Don't think that accepting what you're told, given or advised is the way to feel happy. If you need more, if you can't take less than everything, just go for it.

You're too cool to be told what to do.

Has it ever happened to you?

Last night I tried to put the kiddiez to bed at about 3 a.m. and then I went to sleep myself. Of course I was hoping to actually sleep. But hey...I should probably understand that planning is so over-rated :))

So after being this dreamless being for the last few years, my mind probably thought to make up for that and gave me all the dreaming I could wish for - and more :))))

But I don't mind, that's perfectly OK - I even got a few ideas for BURPies to come. As I was saying, I really dunno what triggered all that, but I'm inclined to blame the Veteran Dog above. Apart from his innocent looks, he's got some magical powers and we suspect he can read minds. You might wanna stay away, unless you want him to mess with your mind, too :)

So there you go. This is for all of you mind readers out there.

If I wanted us to be friends, I would’ve said so.

In fact, before having BURP in our lives, we had no idea what a wonderful feeling that is: how truly ecstatic it can feel to see someone wear and appreciate something you create.

And we're so patting ourselves on the back for doing it and finding out :))

I know it sounds really corny - some time ago I also used to laugh at this "saying" - but the truth is: work is hard enough, babies, that's why you should at least do something you love.

The Pioneer Rabbit comes from another era. Back then, the rabbits were happy if they got to watch TV for an hour or two each day.

But that was a looooooong time ago. Things have changed so much, now that he got his digital TV installed.

He cannot keep himself from watching every show - he just loves how people put their lives on display, eating, pissing and fu*king in front of the camera.

Maybe that's why his eyes got so big lately. He just can't stop staring.

So here it is: we’re gonna have a lil’ debate, if anyone is up for this.

Today’s subject is lying. Lying to ourselves, lying to others. And why sometimes lying feels so bad that you can’t let a second pass by without torturing yourself for doing it – and why other times it feels like a “necessary thing to do” and you’re OK with it. Better yet, it feels almost heroic and makes you bring your chest out and imagine that Superman would wanna take a picture with you for this :P

Have you ever experienced any of these feelings? Have you ever told an “innocent” lie and thought your deed was noble? Or maybe you’ve felt the sting of a lie that wouldn’t go away – and you saw it in your face every time your brain played a trick on you and made you remember it with the help of a word, a smell or a person’s face?

We’re not discussing the moral issue here. Not saying “lying is bad” or “lying is good”.

Just merely questioning the two distinct and opposite emotions one person gets when telling a less-that-truthful phrase :) How can THE SAME thing give THE SAME person two completely different feelings?

Back in the days, the kiddiez had a very cool photo shooting. It was among the first - and it happened in early 2007, with Marius and the BURPmarks. I posted these photos in here to thank Marius, because I just stumbled upon them in my email - they got forgotten for a while :P

We totally had so much fun that week-end, taking lots of pics, wandering the streets & laughing a lot. And although we think we'll nevergrowup, the truth is that those days felt younger somehow :)

Here are the kiddiez on their first trip to Carturesti. I think we made about 20 BURPmarks (or so) - and we had the impression that there were so many of them :)) Since then, hundreds of other BURP kiddiez have appeared in our lives - and yours :D

The Angel Girl used to think her wings were a blessing. So many people could only dream of flying, while she was right there, in the sky, waving at them and laughing out loud. So she spent all her days chasing rainbows and knock knock knocking on Heaven’s door :)

But one day, a sticky cloud decided to play a trick on her. She wanted to taste it, took a fluffy bite, but…got stuck!!!! Oh, no… that means she’ll have her head in the clouds for ever…

Today. Downtown Bucharest. A guy in his car, trying to leave for work. But the car was stuck in snow and wouldn't leave. A woman passed by, holding a little boy by the hand. "Do you need a push?", she asked. "My kid said we need to do a good deed."

How cool is that? Nevergrowup attitude in a world of adults who sometimes forget what that means.

BURP is on a break these days - we're totally busy with other stuff that come with real life, so we don't get to spend so much time with the kiddiez anymore.

And the overall mood in here is pretty low & sunken. And chocolate doesn't seem to do the trick anymore. But...some nice people don't want us to go away for too long (and we thank them for that :P). Cristina & Ioana made us happy by writing & saying they miss the kiddiez :)

Today (actually, yesterday, as it's past midnight, bedtime and everything else normal :P) we took the kiddiez to a theatre play. The extended family, actually, as Andreea & Goss also joined us.

The play is calld HIGH HEELS and it took place in an unconventional setting, @ The Kitchen Skateshop. We realized a few things last night at that play - and afterwards, at the long tea party :)

First of all, we really nevergrowup. That's it. We had to elongate our necks and even jump from our seats from time to time, in order to see what was happening "on stage" :)

Secondly, the play was not really that philosophical, but made us think a little. We totally needed to get a message out of it, and it was something like nothing's-ever-perfect-but-you-still-get-to-get-high-and-be-happy-for-a-while-until-you-realize-it. Of course, after a good dose of sugar-coated cakes, we changed it to you-totally-get-to-choose-what-you-live-and-if-you-choose-something-then-you-should-be-happy-cause-it-was-your-choice-after-all.

Yep, sugar makes us visibly more talkative, even in writing :))

All in all, if you saw the play, share your thoughts with us. And even if you didn't, what do you think: do you still believe in the happy ever after thing at the end of every story or is it just bulls*it for kids? :)

It seems adults don't like their stories to end well. Why is that?

Whatever your ache, there's something that always works: a Nurse Sheep in your life :)

She makes you drink all your hot tea, ingest those vitamins and always get 20 minutes of exercise every day.

We always remember her when we're feeling down or need some care. But why don't we ever call when everything's OK, just to see how she's doing?

As you can see, the Angel Girl had lots of fun on New Year's Eve. Even though she told us she'd be good and stay at home and go to bed early. Yeah, right! :)

Lucky for us, we found these pictures of her with Diana - and it's pretty obvious she WAS present at the party.

Pics don't lie, missy! But you won't be grounded this time, it's OK to have fun on New Year's Eve (even if you're underaged :P).

You see, we're really nice :) But if we hear she emptied all the champagne bottles as well...I think we'll have to take more serious measures :)

She also wrote us a very beautiful email that made us realize we're so lucky to have met so many friends through BURP.

And if others don't see BURP's big achievements in market share or stuff like that, we agree :)

Although he has a mission (packing the gifts :P) and he hasn't finished the work yet, this lil' Veteran Christmas Dog took a short break just to wish you all the best.

Santa let all his reindeers go this season (because of the economy, you know...) and all he could afford was this Veteran Dog. He's cheaper than a bunch of Rudolphs & Prancers & Blitzers, so there you go :)

So he's Santa's helper this year.

Whenever the holidays are approaching, one gets to see a lot of people running around and creating panic & chaos. "I HAVE to get X a present", "Where the hell can I find that book for Y?", "One more to go and I can go home and relax for a while" - this is what we get to hear when people tick friends & family off the list.

When did Christmas become a must-do-have to-need-to thing? Is it because we're all grown-up now? Remember when you were a kid? It was REALLY COOL. When the first snow came, the only thing you HAD TO do was bundle up and go play. For a really long time. Even longer. Yes, longer than that, too. Pretty much until Santa came down the chimney and made you one happy kiddo.

So what has changed? Why do we get grumpy and frowny and stressed nowadays? We don't HAVE TO do anything - except the things we love to do. So yes, making presents is a wonderful thing. But it should be seen as such, not as an obligation of some sort.

That being said, don't worry because you've only got a few days 'till Christmas and you haven't bought any presents. Don't empty the shelves and your pockets just because "X only gets expensive gifts". And don't push people on the street in order to be the first one that gets into that store.

Be calm, be happy and the perfect gift will show itself to you. Enjoy the process, as they say. The result will obviously be extraordinary.

Somehow, Simona thinks opening emails from our friends is a scary thing :) We're writing this post to tell her it isn't - in fact, it's just the opposite :))

(We should tell you that now, after 3 years on this BURP planet, the kiddiez still rush to open the email first thing in the morning, even before washing their eyes or drinking their coffee, but we won't, 'cause it sounds so lame... :P )

Anyhow, she was a darling and sent us this cute pic of her at the office X-mas party - with a 90's theme :) Seeing her wear the Sleepy Bunny belt made our day.

And we totally stole the other pic of her & Cristina, another lovely girl who became our friend this year. To tell you the truth, this was a very difficult year, but a really great one in terms of befriending beautiful people and getting inspired to carry on.

So this is a "thank you" post for all of you who make our days.

Today, the BURP kiddiez realized they've been offline way too long :)

Work, you know the story. But we're back :) Still working, though.

Anyway, we're thinking of asking you guys a question - and offering a prize to the loveliest of answers. You'll get a Santa Special after X-mas gift if you tell us about...your city :D

The idea is that we're getting used to living in cities that don't really represent us anymore - or never have, in places that are just a big pile of things we don't really like/understand or care for. So that's why people rush on the streets, swear and shout at each other, push you and step on your feet, look like they're running to some place they hate and dread the thought of looking up and smiling around.

So we're thinking that everybody has an image of the perfect city in mind - how does it look? What's its name? Where can we find it? We're hoping you'll be able to tell us - leave a comment below and...who knows? Maybe you'll win :)

When we're not working, we're having fun @ Sala Dalles with Andreea, Cosmina and Ramona.

It's some kind of a make-plans-tell-a-story-eat-chocolate-candies-and-Christmas-cookies-plus-yummy-salads day that keeps on repeating itself.

A really tiresome experience, but lovely when you think about it after you've taken a break :)

In the '20s, the Veteran Dog was just a kiddo (well, he still is, brain-wise :)).

Back then, people [and dogs] they had this Christmas tradition of taking their families to the photographer and "immortalizing" the moment. As you can see, lace was used to decorate the photos - which were still something new and peculiar in some ways. We were thinking...nowadays people don't seem to cherish pictures as much as they did in those times.

When was the last time you looked at old family pictures and remembered those days & those people? See? Now might be a good time to do that.

They are both Christmas lovers - so they decided to come out in December because 'tis the season to be jolly, right? :D

The Angel Girl is the sweetest critture you've ever met - until you touch sensitive subjects like doing good, being a loving soul and helping the world. If you don't agree to 100% purity, the Angel Girl will go mad and try to teach you the right path to follow :P

Annoyingly good, right? :D

You see, she's taking Angelina as her role model and that makes her wanna help the poor, give food to people in faraway countries, be charitable and adopt babies. Yep, we know, she's a goody-two-shoes :)

The Veteran Dog, on the other hand, knows evil. He lost a leg in combat (although nobody knows who he fought with or why) and he can tell you a lot about war. That is - if you are interested :) But underneath his bad dog appearance, he's just a romantic with a bow tie around his neck :)

Today we woke up early and went to Sala Dalles to get everything ready for the fair.

When we got bored from organizing stuff, we took short drawing breaks, in which we created pink flying bunnies like this one. You gotta understand, her sleepy face matched with our morning look.

And we also put some brooch pickles in jars - they're the favorite winter treat, aren't they?

Yesterday was a full day, packed with so many things that we actually had to run on the streets and hope we'll get everything done in time. And we learned once again that one should relax and do whatever is possible - and things will turn out OK, even without all the stress. If one can do that :)

Anyhow, besides working, we also did some fun stuff yesterday afternoon: we attended Parada Modei, the fair organised by noko. And we gotta say that it felt really nice - it was a breath of fresh air compared to the other fairs we've been to lately. Maybe just because it happened in a familiar place - or because we got together with many friends and it felt more like a party than a fair - whatever the reason, we loved the feeling.

The BURP kiddiez have their hands full at this moment, so they asked us to write a little in here. Just to let you know they're still around :)

So, we've been working a lot lately, today seemed like a week 'cause we got so many things done. But days like these are good sometimes, even if it's just for that feeling of accomplishment you get when you think about them. But of course there's always something else that can be done, a better way to do it etc... You probably know what I'm saying. Might be so because we always "wake up" at the last minute, or maybe we always think of something more we can do. Still have to clear that up :)

But so you know, we'll be opening a little BURP house at the Dalles Christmas fair that starts on Monday. It's still in the works, but we've got tomorrow to make everything perfect. Soon we'll post pictures - and hope you'll come by to visit us & the kiddiez.

Cosmina's daughter, Ana, is a lovely young girl that has a lot of BURP friends around the house.
A few days ago she also befriended the TeenAge Love Queen - who sits pretty on her blouse :)

And today we received these pics of her - as you can see, she's not only fashionable, but also really smart :) She takes part in all sorts of national competitions and thinks school is cool.
And the books are there to prove it :)

We're not really that active these days (in fact we are, but we haven't shown it in here yet :P) because we've got a lot of things going on offline.

But don't get us wrong, we like to keep busy.

These last few days have been measured in fabric metres and hours of shopping for supplies. We've also counted in some planning & design. And we're still looking forward to putting everything into practice. Long story short, BURP is sketching some nice things for this winter season, hope you'll like them!!

And this craze seems to catch on - the One-Legged-Dog also told us he's getting insomnia because of it. And now he sleeps all day long, but stays awake at the same time. It's a half-sleep technique he mastered over time, might teach you some day if you're interested (although we don't recommend it :P).

Everybody knows at least one Joker Sheep. He's that character that always makes fun of himself and others - and makes people laugh out loud.

The Joker Sheep is essential for his friends' sanity, because he offers them free fun. Of course he actually gets something in exchange - the recognition of his humorous personality is what keeps this Sheep alive :)

If you haven't met him yet, go to a birthday party: he'll be stripping down on some table and drinking way more than he can hold in - not necessarily in this order :)

Or if you attend a wedding, you only need to look on the dance floor: he'll be shakin' and breakin' over there for the whole time, even when the others are long over it.

And if you ever feel down and go out with your friends, just notice that while most of them are feeling bad for you (or thinking they're not that OK either), the Sheep will be mixing drinks and cracking jokes until you all start forgetting the serious issues.

Well, the question is: does the Joker Sheep have a life of his own, or is he there just for his audience?

This Undecided Pet is faced with the biggest challenge ever: the two little cuties are always together, but always apart.

They love each other, but can't stay together for too long. It's strange when you think about it, but instantly starts to make sense when you see them.

We haven't made any BURPmarks in a while - but got some requests for them lately and got back to work.

Actually, a few weeks ago we came up with a new idea for making them - and we'll show it to you soon. Still haven't had the time to take pics of them!! :S

All we know is that Pluto is a dog - Mickey's pet, right? But Goofy is a dog, too. And he's nobody's pet. The next difference - Goofy SPEAKS, why Pluto doesn't. Why is that? Don't you think this is really an important question, something we totally need to find out? :)

No, we're not starting a course on journalism techniques, we're merely thinking about the stuff that we're doing right now, the people we're doing it with (don't think nasty thoughts, OK? :)) and the reasons why.

Complicated, we tell you :D

So besides attending concerts (thanks to our good friends) and getting worried (thanks to other friends :S), we're planning.

We were thinking about getting a place for BURP - where we can invite all of you over for goodies, throw parties whenever we feel like it, where we can work and have fun at the same time. Yep, it's not a really new thought - but it looks like we didn't manage to make it happen until now. Don't get us wrong, we're all for taking things slowly, but sometimes it can start to feel like nothing's moving at all.

Well, enough about that for now. So, would you like to visit the BURP headquarters when it'll be more than just a dream? :)

You know we've got a thing for Undecided Pets - so today they inspired us to make an Antithesis Week :)

Here's how it goes:

Day 1: SIMPLE

Start the day by waking up slowly. No alarm clock this time (whaat? yes, it can be done :))
This is a day when you accept the fact that life can be easy. You take pleasure in the simplest of things, maybe stuff you never considered before. Let's see, when was the last time you got out of the house and admired the trees, the sky, everything around you? If you can't remember, you could do it today.

Also, this is the day to KISS - keep it super simple :) OK? So: no worries, no strings attached, no big decisions, no processed food :) Yep, food is also important - go to a farmer's market and taste the real things.

Oh, and you might also want to skip work today. A simple excuse and you're all set :)

Day 2: COMPLICATED

OK, so the day before felt too much for you. It's your lifestyle that can't go back to being simple, right? Riiiight. Then today will be just your cup of tea :)

Start early, to make things even more complicated. And if you haven't had enough sleep, that's perfect :D

Of course, now you get to go to work. And you might wanna go there by car, for bonus points. It's traffic-jam time :)

This is the day when you keep busy and wired: meetings, phone calls, decisions to make. Everything must be over the top. If it isn't, make sure you add a little to it :) You might even want to promise people stuff you don't really want to do. That'll add some spice too :P

And don't forget to keep busy until midnight. Also, go to your fave restaurant and ask for the most "complicated" dish they can serve (plus a really elaborate cocktail, of course). If they don't have anything that pleases you, make your own combo. Maybe you'll see it on the menu soon :)

Day 3: BEAUTIFUL

This is the day when everything around you should be beautiful. And if it isn't, you make it so!
That fence might need a little varnish - and if you add some of your signature drawings, it will start to look even better :) Or take care of your furniture, clothes, whatever makes you happy.

Just make sure you beautify everything you touch. Oh, and people too :) You need to see only the beauty in them. No matter what they say/do, always take the good part in (be they family, neighbours or shop assistants). That's easy to do, right? :)

Day 4: NOT-SO-BEAUTIFUL

Uhm, this is the grumpy day. You need to be severly critical and never admit anything can be OK. The project sucks, they did the worst job ever, your energy is low and you really don't have the time to speak to all these stupid people. Really, how can everyone be so dumb?

People always have mean intentions, they're egocentric and nobody can ever do something that would please you. At least today, right? :)

Day 5: YOU

Focus on yourself today. YOU are the most important. So get yourself a little piece of heaven, whether it's a day at the SPA, a ton of beautiful clothes, some yummy chocolate treat. You know, something that will make you feel great.

Don't forget, you are the only one that counts today. So don't be in a rush at the beauty parlor, get everything they have to offer; take time to go to the gym; don't eat on the way home or over your computer keyboard.

Pamper your body and also treat your soul to something good - music, movies, romance - whatever makes you tick :)

Day6: OTHERS

Now you can focus on the people around you. Nobody is less important, they are all different and so great to discover!

So whether you're talking to a grumpy lady at the post office or to the waiter or maybe to a coworker or even your boss - keep that smile on and really listen to them. Help whenever you're asked to - and even when you're not!
You'll see, caring for others will make them respond unexpectedly. Take time to say "hello", "goodbye" and everything in between. Don't be just another person that crossed their way today - be someone they'll remember.

Day 7: ...
Now think about the few days that have passed and try to see what was good for you, what wasn't and why. Life is made up of bits and pieces of all these days, but we really need to experience them in bigger ways to fully understand :)

Tomorrow is My Grandma's Backyard's 2nd anniversary and of course a "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" is in order.

You know how they say you never forget your first...fashion fair :)

And MGB was the first uber-cool fashion fair in Romania, if we are to consider the fact that - compared to its "offsprings" - it had a concept and it always felt like somebody worked really hard to put on the show.

You might say that nothing's perfect - and this is melancholy speaking :)) - well, obviously, but after attending more than many fashion events, fairs and so on, we can tell the difference :)

MGB had that vibe. And we have a lot of memories to share from the editions we took part at - and even more pictures :) So yes, we're a bit melancholic, too.

So we posted them rather randomly, because all the bits and pieces make up the story. You can see we had cake, we had fun, we made friends and even danced in the rain. For real.

And a lot of other things happened in the meantime, too.

So MGB feels a bit older than 2 y.o., it seems like it's been here since forever :)

Because sometimes we have breakfast at night - but it's nice, as we've been waiting all day for this. Oh, wait, we've been actually planning it since yesterday night :)

Because we sometimes think of someone and they just happen to call - yep, it's modern magic, telepathy, call-it-whatever-you-like.

Because we discover things we did a few years ago and we feel happy :) We used to have fun, right? And we still do. It's just that it happens in a different time zone.

Has it ever happened to feel good without doing anything special or to simply watch things fall into place when you didn't expect them to? Of course it has, and it's so nice when it does. Just take a minute and remember. The next one could be in the works :)

We have little to no free time these days. But we couldn't miss the chance to see the collection we created for Tina R in store. So we decided to MAKE ourselves some free time (try it sometimes, it works great :)) and go visit them :)

You can see the collection at Tina R in Unirea Shopping Center this month - then it will be off to another one of their stores and so on. All these accessories like to travel, that's why :)

Of course, love happened on both sides: the long-eared specimen also enjoyed her company, as she thought Ioana is a very stylish dresser. We admit, we also loved her blue skirt & impossibly cute boots - plus that vintage necklace...OK, you get the point :)

Ioana was a darling and took Mina Ballerina to Wembley for a hot concert.

Wembley Stadium, you know? Queen, ABBA, Muse, Oasis, The Rolling Stones and Blur played there. And the cute English football stars also played there. And now Mina. Of course it was a blast! :)
